Athagarh: The blood and swab samples of a pangolin rescued from Mahulia quarantine centre in Badamba, under Athagarh Forest Division in Cuttack district, was sent for COVID-19 test at the Centre for Wildlife Health (CWH) at the Odisha University of Agriculture Technology OUAT in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Talking to the media earlier in the day, Athagarh DFO Sasmita Lenka said that the Forest Department will conduct the test of the Pangolin as it was rescued from a quarantine centre.
This is the first time that Covid test of a pangolin will be conducted in the country.
