New Delhi: Swati Maliwal has finally broken her silence three days after Arvind Kejriwal’s PA allegedly assaulted her at the CM’s residence.
The Rajya Sabha of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said she had given her statement to Delhi Police, and hoped that “appropriate action” will be taken, without taking any names.
She also appealed to BJP leaders not to indulge in politics on this issue.
“What happened to me was very bad. I have given my statement to the police on the incident that happened to me. I hope that appropriate action will be taken. The last few days have been very difficult for me. I thank those who prayed for me. Those who tried to do character assassination, said that she was doing it on the instructions of the other party, may God keep them happy too. An important election is going on in the country, Swati Maliwal is not important, the issues of the country are important. There is a special request to BJP people to not do politics on this incident,” Maliwal tweeted a few hours after a Delhi Police team visited her residence to find out what actually happened.
Maliwal did go to the police station on Monday and spoke about being ‘assaulted’ by a member of Kejriwal’s personal staff at the CM’s residence, didn’t however lodge an official complaint.
AAP leader Sanjay Singh admitted that Kejriwal’s PA Bibhav Kumar had misbehaved with Maliwal, but the chief minister has not uttered a word on the matter even as BJP has gone hammer and tongs at him and demanded his resignation.
