Swine flu claims two more lives in state

Bhubaneswar: Two more persons lost their lives to swine flu on Tuesday, taking this season’s death toll to three.
While one death was reported from Cuttack, another person succumbed to the influenza at a hospital in Bhubaneswar.
The first swine flu death was reported in the state capital on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the number of swine flu cases rose to 59 after 13 of 19 swab samples of patients admitted to different hospitals in the twin cities tested at the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) on Tuesday were found positive for H1N1 virus.
The state government had earlier issued a directive asking government and private hospitals in the state to set up special wards with ventilator support to treat swine flu patients. Steps are also being taken to create awareness to prevent spread of the influenza.
