Bhubaneswar: Swine flu death toll rose to 19 with three more persons succumbing to H1N1 virus on Monday.
While a 43-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, the third death of a 55-year-old woman was reported from AMRI Hospital here.
On the other hand, eight of the 29 swab samples sent for examination tested positive for the viral influenza. These cases were reported from Kar Clinic (3), KIIMS (2) and one each from SCB, Kalinga Hospital and Sun Shine Hospital. The patients belong to Khurda (3), Puri (3), Cuttack (1) and Ganjam (1).
According to health department sources, 235 of 678 samples have so far been found infected with the disease.
