Bhubaneswar: Two more persons succumbed to swine flu on Thursday, taking the death toll to 44 in the state this season. The deaths were reported from Apollo Hospital (a 42-year-old man) and SUM Hospital (a 27-year-old man) in the state capital.
On the other hand, four of 25 swab samples sent for examination were found infected with the viral influenza. These patients, one male and three females, are undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Apollo Hospital, KIDS Hospital and Jagannath Hospital here. They are natives of Khurda, Balasore, Bhadrak and Kendrapada.
So far, 1136 samples have been tested and 365 found positive for the H1N1 virus, health department sources said.
