Cuttack: One more person succumbed to swine flu in the state late on Thursday, taking the death toll to 24 this year.
The deceased, identified as Subhasis Nayak (44) of Bari area in Jajpur district, was undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital here. This is the eighth swine flu death reported from the hospital this season.
According to health department sources, 43 swab samples were sent for examination on Friday out of which 12 tested positive for the H1N1 virus. As many as 259 have been found infected with the viral influenza in the state so far, the sources added.
