Lucknow: Odisha crashed to a 66-run defeat against Andhra Pradesh in their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 contest here on Friday.
It was Odisha’s second heavy defeat in as many games in the eight-team Elite Group A, having lost by 10 wickets to Kerala.
Chasing 185, Odisha capitulated after a brisk start. From 48/1 in 4 overs, Odisha were skittled out for 118 in the 18th over. Barring Sourav Gouda, no other batter reached 20.
Left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar (3/23
) ran through the middle order, before left-arm seamer Prithvi Raj struck three blows in quick succession to finish with dream figures of 3/4 in 2.2 overs.
Skipper Ricky top-scored with a 29-ball 47 for Andhra, while Team India wicketkeeper-batter K Srikar Bharat made 42 opening the innings.
Skipper Biplab Samantray (3/20) was Odisha’s best bowler, while Rajesh Mohanty bagged 2/34.
