Kolkata: The chief curator of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Sujan Mukherjee will assist Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) in preparing the Barabati Stadium ground for the June 12 T20 International between India and South Africa.
“I had a talk with OCA secretary Sanjay Behera. They have procured new covers and sought our assistance in preparing their ground. We have a very cordial relation with Odisha Cricket Association and will ensure that they get the best assistance from us. We have requested Sujan Mukherjee to help them with technical knowledge for covers ahead of the match,” said CAB president Avishek Dalmiya.
“There is possibility of rain at this time of the year, so our people with technical expertise will be there to assist them,” said CAB secretary Snehasish Ganguly.
Four groundsmen with knowledge and knowhow of ground cover operations will also be sent to train their counterparts in OCA. Mukherjee will reach a day before the match to oversee work.
Meanwhile, OCA on Wednesday held a preparatory meeting involving different committees for the smooth conduct of the match.
