Ireland won the toss and elected to bowl first. KL Rahul (70) and Suresh Raina(69) shared a 102-run partnership. Hardik Pandya hit 4 sixes and made 32 runs in just 9 balls by the end of the 1st innings, helping India to cross the 200-run mark. Virat Kohli scored just 9 runs and Rohit Sharma was out for a duck.
Ireland’s entire batting line-up was wiped up at 70 in 12.3 overs.
Umesh Yadav, who made a comeback in T20I, took 2 wickets in successive overs. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3 wickets each while giving away only 37 runs together.
The highest score for the Irish side was captain Garry Wilson’s 15 off 18 balls.
Yuzvendra Chahal was awarded the man of the series and KL Rahul received the man of the match award.
