Mumbai: Abhishek Makwana, one of the writers of the popular TV show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah‘ has died by suicide, Times Of India (TOI) reported.
He cited ‘financial troubles’ in a suicide note, before he took his own life, the police were quoted as saying.
Makwana’s family has alleged he was a victim of cyber fraud and blackmail. The writer had died last week. His friends and family have reportedly been getting calls from fraudsters after his death, demanding they pay back the money as he had allegedly made them guarantors in a loan, TOI reported.
The Charkop police had registered an accidental death record after Makwana, 37, was found hanging in his flat in the Kandivali building on November 27, Mumbai Mirror reported.
