Pakistan Admits To 2019 Pulwama Attack As Its Display Of ‘Tactical Brilliance’ [Watch]

Bhubaneswar: In a desperate show of one-upmanship, Pakistan confessed to orchestrating the 2019 Pulwama attack, a suicide bombing resulting in the death of 40 CRPF personnel.

“We tried to tell them with our tactical brilliance in Pulwama, now, we have demonstrated our operational progress and strategic acumen. I believe they should take heed,” said Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed during a press conference on Friday attended by numerous journalists, including foreign correspondents.

This now raises questions about Pakistan’s denial of involvement in the April 22 Pahalgam attack.

However, this is not the first time that Pakistan has taken responsibility for the Pulwama terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. “Humne Hindustan ko ghus ke maara (We hit India in their home). Our success in Pulwama, is a success of this nation under the leadership of Imran Khan. You and us are all part of that success,” a senior Pakistani Minister, Fawad Chaudhry, had said in the National Assembly during a debate in 2020.

Notably, NIA had sent a detailed LR seeking information on four Pakistan-based perpetrators including Azhar, Asghar, another brother Ibrahim Athar, cousin Ammar Alvi, and three Pakistanis who came to India to execute the attack , Athar’s son Umar Farooq, Kamran (killed in encounters with security forces) and Ismail alias Saifullah (also killed by forces), after the Pulwama 2019 attack.
