Angul: In a gruesome incident, a tailor was brutally attack and killed with scissors allegedly by a youth at a village in Banarpal area of Odisha’s Angul district on Thursday.
As per preliminary information, the incident took place at Santri village under the jurisdiction of Banarpal police station following an altercation over some trivial issue in the afternoon.
The deceased, identified as Madhusudan Nayak of Jajpur, was running a tailoring shop at Santri. The accused youth, identified as Tuna, also ran a shop in the same area.
Sources said Nayak was at his shop when an argument erupted with Tuna over some trivial issue. Matters took an ugly turn when Tuna allegedly picked up scissors and attacked Nayak in a fit of rage, causing him grievous injuries.
Locals rescued the tailor and rushed him to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) at Angul where doctors declared him dead.
On being informed, police personnel visited the hospital and started an investigation into the incident. Tuna has been detained in connection with the incident and probe is underway.
