Bhubaneswar: In a sudden move, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday directed the Odisha Police to immediately drop all cases registered against Rajeswari Kamila who was who was arrested after hurling eggs at him during Talasari beach festival in Balasore district on January 31.
The incident had taken place at around 3 PM when Rajeswari suddenly threw three eggs at the Chief Minister from behind a barricade while he was about to wrap up his address.
Police immediately arrested her and whisked her away from the venue, but not before some people in the crowd heckled the woman.
Following the incident, Police had registered cases under section 307,353, 332, 294 and 504 of the IPC against Rajeswari.
She was produced in the local court in Jaleswar which remanded her to Judicial custody till February 6.
But as her health condition deteriorated, she was admitted to a government hospital at Jaleswar for treatment from where she was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
On February 5, police dropped Section 307 of the IPC (attempt to murder) against Rajeswari but had maintained that cases under section353, 332, 294 and 504 of the IPC against her would continue.
