Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor fans were ecstatic and went gaga as his ‘Shamshera’ look was leaked online.
The first poster of Karan Mehra’s epic period film shows Ranbir in a rugged look.
Yash Raj Films was scheduled to start the film’s campaign next week after Ranbir’s return from Spain, where he had been shooting with co-star Shradha Kapoor for Luv Ranjan’s next film.
The makers had lined up activities leading up to the trailer launch, but all their secrecy was dashed.
According to a Zee News report, the first poster of ‘Shamshera’ got leaked after a fan activation event.
Ranbir’s fans, however, didn’t mind at all.
Appreciating the poster, netizens described Ranbir’s rugged avatar as one of Ranbir’s ‘hottest’ looks.
‘Shamshera’, set to be released on July 22, will mark Ranbir’s first release on big screen four years after ‘Sanju’.
“We keep planning our lives so that we land things at the perfect time, but in doing so we forget that the Universe is always on time. Incidents like these are a true example of that! I’m just happy that people and fans of Ranbir Kapoor are loving his look and the poster of Shamshera,” said director Karan Mehra.
“We wanted to start our campaign mid-next week, but it looks like fans couldn’t wait for us to begin. I don’t blame them. They have waited for too long. Ranbir is returning to the cinemas after 4 years, and it is difficult to control the excitement. I’m just glad that the reactions are great,” he added.
