Mumbai: Tara Sutaria’s reaction to a photographer allegedly getting too close to her has sparked a debate online.
A video showing the actress pushing away a photographer’s camera has gone viral, with several fans defending her and criticising what they described as intrusive paparazzi behaviour.
The incident comes amid the buzz around Tara’s role in Yash-starrer Toxic.
In the video, Tara is seen arriving at a Mumbai store in an all-white outfit and black sunglasses.
As she heads towards the entrance, she is surrounded by paparazzi, while members of her staff hold up umbrellas to shield her from the cameras.
Amid the crowd, one photographer appears to move closer to Tara with his camera. The actress then pushes the camera aside before continuing towards the store entrance.
The situation appeared to escalate as some photographers were heard calling out Tara’s name in a mocking tone, with their remarks seemingly bordering on catcalling.
A few paparazzi members could also be heard asking the actress to stop and pose for photographs following the incident.
The video soon drew reactions on social media, with several users condemning the photographers for allegedly crossing boundaries and invading Tara’s personal space.
One Reddit user questioned the photographer’s manner of addressing Tara and wrote, “Look at them calling Tara as if they are calling their wife.”
Another commented, “She should have just pushed them stronger. How dare they call her? They sound like Taraaa, Taraahhh. Such clowns.”
“Paps don’t understand the concept of personal space,” another wrote.
