Tata Motors on Wednesday launched a premium hatchback named ‘Altroz’ in India. The car, which gained attention because of its 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP, has been launched at a starting price of Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Here are the variant-wise prices:

Tata Altroz 1.2-litre Revotron XE – Rs 5.29 lakh

Tata is also giving customization packs for the new Altroz. The prices are:
Tata Altroz Rhythm – Rs 25,000 (XE) and Rs 39,000 (XM)

Tata Altroz Urban – Rs 30,000
The Altroz measures 3,990 mm in length, 1,755 mm in width and 1,523 mm in height. The petrol version of the car weighs 1,036 kg while the diesel version is heavier at 1,150 kg.
Going with the trend, the Altroz has integrated LED DRLs into the fog lamps while the projector headlamps are connected to the honeycomb mesh grille.
Tata has made sure to load the Altroz with features like 7-inch TFT floating touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, automatic headlamps, ambient lighting, front sliding armrest with storage space inside and Harman audio system with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters.
Safety-wise, the Altroz gets dual airbags, ABS, EBD, cornering control and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The Altroz’s engines are BS6 compliant. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder one that makes 86bhp and 113Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-charged engine that produces 90bhp and 200Nm of peak torque. An automatic variant will be launched in the future.
