Tata said the prices are roughly 25 per cent higher than its gasoline counterparts.
The company is giving an option to subscribe to the car instead of buying it, starting from a duration of 12 months to 4 years without any down payment.
The Nexon EV has a 30.2 kWh lithium battery pack powering 95 kW 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 129PS and 245 Nm of torque. Tata claims 0-60 km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds and a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 9.9 seconds. The company is also claiming a range of at least 300 kms.
Tata has announced comprehensive warranty packages which seem to be one of the highest in the industry:
Being an electric car, it is expected to have a running cost of just Rs 1 per km, 80 per cent lower than the petrol version.
The top variant is loaded with features such as sunroof, 7 inch infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, electric tailgate, dual airbags, ABS, EBD, cornering assist, ISOFIX child seat support, reverse parking camera, etc.
There will be 300 fast chargers as part of Tata Motors’ network by March 2020. The batteries can be recharged in an hour’s time using a fast charger.
The connected app can turn on the AC, geo-fence the car or help find closest charging stations.
