Tata Motors has partnered with Tata Power to install 300 electric vehicle charging points in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad by FY20 end.
The company on Friday inaugurated 7 charging stations in Pune. The chargers are Bharat Standard (15 kW) certified and have been installed at Tata Group-owned retail outlets such as Chroma stores, Star Bazar outlets, Titan watch showrooms, etc.
The company stated that it will install 30-50 kW DC CCS2 standard fast charging points as well.
Tata Motors had recently announced that it was going to roll out four electric cars within the next year, and is hence installing charging stations.
The company plans to launch the electric cars in 20-25 cities where the charging infrastructure will be ready. It is reportedly working with Tata Power for charging points on home and office premises.
To promote EVs, Tata EV owners can charge their cars free of cost for the next 3 months.
Currently, Tata Power has a total of 85 charging points, including 42 in Mumbai.
