New Delhi: Ilker Ayci has been appointed chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director (MD) of Air India.
The 51-year-old Istanbul-born Ayci is the former chairman of Turkish Airlines.
Tata Sons, which took over Air India last month, made the announcement after the airline’s board meeting on Monday.
“Ilker is an aviation industry leader who led Turkish Airlines to its current success during his tenure there. We are delighted to welcome Ilker to the Tata Group where he will lead Air India into the new era,” said Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran, who was a special invitee to the meeting.
Ayci is expected to take charge by April 1, 2022.
