Sundargarh: As part of its women empowerment mission, Tata Steel BSL on Sunday launched a training programme on mushroom farming for women SHGs in a village of the district.
The company’s social responsibility wing started the programme with an objective to provide entrepreneurial opportunities to women members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Kalmang village under Koira block.
Members of Maa Saraswati SHGs and Maa Laxmi SHGs of the village took up the venture with the materials like spawn, paddy straw, polythene, etc provided by Tata Steel BSL.
Sanjay Sardar, unit head of Tata Steel BSL, CSR at Kalmang; Renuka Singh, senior manager, CSR along with field coordinator of the department Dipak Mohanta and village resource person coordinated the training programme.
