Kalinganagar: Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) inaugurated the Tribal Dance and Music Centre at Gobarghati Phase 2, Bamiaghata Community Hall.
Chief of Logistics Operations, Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) Suvransu Sekhar Rout and Tata Steel Kalinganagar Workers’ Union (TSKWU) president Rabindra Kumar Jamuda inaugurated the centre which reaffirms TSF’s commitment to preserving and promoting indigenous cultural heritage.
Senior community members and leaders from displaced persons’ families representing Chadia, Gobarghati and New Champakoila were present at the event.
In the lead-up to the inauguration, a four-day workshop on tribal dance and music was organised from July 7 to 10. The workshop engaged youth, women, and community leaders, and was attended by over 60 persons.
Conducted in collaboration with Jharkhand’s Adivasi Ramoj Akhra, the programme served as a vibrant prelude to the centre’s launch, fostering enthusiasm and cultural pride among the local community.
The Tribal Dance and Music Centre is designed to be a vibrant hub for cultural expression, skill development and community engagement, with the aim of preserving the rich legacy of tribal dance and music for future generations.
