Jajpur: Sukinda chromite mine of Tata Steel Mining Limited (TSML) in Odisha’s Jajpur district has been conferred with the prestigious ‘CII Eastern Region Excellence Awards for Safety Health and Environment (SHE) 2021-22’.
The award was received by Ajaya Kumar Thakur, assistant general manager, Health, Safety and Environment, TSML at 16th Confederation of Indian Industry Safety Symposium and Exposition held in Kolkata.

Speaking on the award, Pankaj Kumar Satija, Managing Director, TSML, said, “The award recognises relentless efforts of Tata Steel Mining Ltd in the field of safety, health and environment. We are honoured to receive this coveted award which will inspire us to improve further in this direction.”
Sharing of best practices through this award will assist industries in performing better on safety, health and Environment management. TSML will continue to consider environmental, biodiversity, safety, and social considerations in all its operational decisions as it believes that operating sustainably and responsibly is not just a business imperative, but also a long-term competitive advantage, a release of the company stated.
