Bhubaneswar: Tata Steel XI trounced Leaders XI 3-0 to lift the Friendship Cup Football Tournament 2019 at Kalinga Stadium here on Sunday. Saddam Abrar scored a brace while Mithun Chakrasoy netted one goal.
In the semifinals, Leaders XI defeated Media XI 3-2 in a keen contest while Tata Steel XI beat Bureaucrats XI 1-0. Abrar of Tata Steel XI was adjudged the best forward while Jaganath Naik of Leaders XI was declared the best goal-keeper. Further, Saswat Mishra of Bureaucrats XI (Fair Player), Sadam Abrar (highest scorer), Dibyasankar Mishra of Leaders XI (best defender), Arun Kumar Sahu of Leaders XI (best half) were felicitated at the prize-giving ceremony. Ministers Arun Kumar Sahu and Tusharkanti Behera, among others, attended it.
