New Delhi: After two days of negotiations, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena on Saturday announced that they had sealed the deal for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh.
“The modalities of seat sharing will be deliberated within a day or two,” a joint statement issued by BJP president JP Nadda, Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan said. The deal was finalised around midnight on Friday.
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also told the media that identification of individual seats will be decided in the days ahead.
“BJP, TDP and Jana Sena have come to an understanding for alliance… Andhra Pradesh has been destroyed badly. BJP and TDP coming together is a win-win situation for the country,” he said adding that the alliance will sweep the polls.
According to reports, out of total 24 Lok Sabha seats in the state, Jana Sena and BJP are likely to get eight seats.
For the Assembly elections, BJP and Jana Sena are likely to get 28 to 32 seats with the TDP contesting in the rest of the seats, India Today reported.
TDP may also hold a mega rally with Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this month, sources said.
