TDP-YSR Congress To Push No-Confidence Motion Today

New Delhi: The Telugu Desam Party led by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will push the no-confidence motion in the Parliament on Monday. One of BJP’s largest ally in the South, the TDP called it quits with the BJP last week, over granting special category status to Andhra Pradesh. Another regional party YSR Congress has written to the Lok Sabha Secretariat in the revised business list.
Though the two parties don’t have the numbers to cause a concern to the Narendra Modi led Government, it will be a clarion call before the 2019 elections.
Congress and Left have already decided to back the motion.
“We are going to go move no-confidence motion, gather support of all respective parties in Parliament. It’s responsibility of all parties in Parliament to support us. Trying to gather as much support as possible so debate happens, not trying to make the government fall,” RM Naidu, TDP MP was quoted by ANI agency.
Shiv Sena, on the other hand, have not yet revealed their take on the no-confidence motion.
“We will wait and watch. We will also have to see if Speaker allows the no confidence motion or rejects it. TDP has its own state issues and we welcome them. As of now we have not decided yet on no confidence motion, Uddhav ji will take a call,” Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena told ANI.
