Jharsuguda: A 65-year-old teacher died after he slipped while trying to board a moving train at Jharsuguda railway station in Odisha on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as B Shibashankar (65). A native of Raipur in Chhattisgarh, he was a teacher at a school in Nuapali under Melchhamunda police limits in Bargarh district.
According to sources, the teacher lost his footing and fell into the gap between the train and the platform while boarding Jnaneshwari Express at around 7:30 am. Though people on the platform immediately rushed to his rescue, he was dragged under the wheels and crushed to death.
The GRP police have seized the body, and sent it for postmortem.
