Teacher Dies After SUV Carrying BDO Crashes Into Scooty In Odisha

Sambalpur: A teacher riding a scooty died after an alleged collision with an SUV, carrying Kuchinda Block Development Officer (BDO), near Mantrimunda under Kuchinda police limits in Odisha’s Sambalpur district, on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Sankar Munda (45) of Kundesara village under Kuchinda police limits.

According to sources, the incident took place around 12.30 pm when the BDO, Jayant Sahu, was returning to Kuchinda after an inspection at a higher secondary college at Kusumi. Munda sustained severe head injuries in the crash and was rushed to sub-divisional hospital but doctors there declared him dead.

Police have seized the vehicle and detained the driver for questioning.
