Bargarh: Tension prevails at Khairapalli village under Ambabhona police station limits in Odisha’s Bargarh district following the cold-blooded murder of a teacher and brutal attack on his minor daughter late on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Sadhu Charan Pradhan of Saranda village in Attabira block in the district, who was a teacher and Cluster Resource Centre (CRC) worker of Khairapalli Primary School.
The minor girl with severe head injuries, admitted to the Bargarh district headquarters hospital, was later shifted toVeer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla where the doctors said that her condition is critical.
Till reports last came in, the family members have rushed to VIMSAR
Following information, the Ambabhona police and the Bargarh SDPO have rushed to the village for an on-the-spot investigation.
Police seized a blood-stained axe from the spot.
Sources in the locality said the family of Pradhan was staying at Khairapalli village. However, the father and the daughter were in the house on the fateful night as the rest of the family members had gone to Saranda, their native village.
In the meanwhile, police have detained a person of Khairapalli village and started his interrogation. From the interrogation, police suspect that the detainee could be the prime accused.
