Teacher Of Reputed School In Rourkela Among 3 Held For Duping Realtor Of Rs 2.83 Cr

Rourkela: Police have arrested three persons, including a teacher of a reputed English medium school in Rourkela, for allegedly duping a real estate businessman of Rs 2.83 crore.

Those arrested have been identified as Md Qumar Khan (55) of Koelnagar, his wife Sindhu AS (50) and an accomplice, Pradipta Patnayak (50).

Sindhu is a native of Chengannur in Kerala.

According to sources, Biswa Bhusan Nanda (36) filed a complaint with police in December last year, stating that Sindhu, whom he knew through his sister, along with her husband and their accomplice duped him after promising a profitable land deal in Chengannur.

Sindhu told him that her relatives in Chengannur wanted to sell land valued at Rs 3 crore and urged quick investment due to rising prices. Nanda paid Rs 2.83 crore in instalments between April and May 2024. When the trio failed to deliver the land, Nanda realised he had been deceived.
