Teacher Training Colleges In Odisha To Come Under Higher Education Dept From June 1

Bhubaneswar: All teacher training colleges in Odisha offering Bachelor of Education (BEd) course will come under the purview of Higher Education Department from June 1.

The Higher Education Department said in a notification that there were some B.Ed colleges under School & Mass Education Department and the ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department.

However, for better management of these colleges, a blueprint has been prepared to bring all these colleges under Higher Education Department.

To oversee functioning of these colleges, a new department, namely Teacher Education Department, has been created in the campus-I of the Higher Education Department in Lok Seva Bhawan.

For proper management of B.Ed colleges, Dr Snigdha Mishra and Dr Sarada Mishra have been appointed deputy director and assistant director, respectively, of the Teacher Education Department.
