Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police recently constituted a team to provide enhanced safety and security to women and girls in Odisha’s twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The Team HER (High Efficiency Response) is being led by Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Anjana Tudu.
According to police sources, the team is working round the clock, immediately responding to complaints and cracking down on miscreants troubling women, and providing protection, especially to those coming back home late at night.
“We want the women and girls in the city to feel safe and walk freely on the streets. The team is working actively and taking action after investigation,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh.
The team has already registered six cases and initiated action against the accused.
Women in the twin cities can call on 6372500400 or 112 to lodge harassment on street, stalking and eve-teasing complaints. They can also send an email to herteam.bbsr@gmail.com. The identity of the caller will not be disclosed, the sources added.
