Team India In T20 World Cup Semis As Netherlands Stun South Africa

Adelaide: Team India reached the semifinals of the T20 World Cup even before taking the field for their last league game against Zimbabwe, as the Netherlands stunned mighty South Africa by 13 runs in their Super 12 Group 2 clash.

In what was the most unexpected result of the tournament, the sprightly Dutch to 145/8 after posting an impressive 158/4.

The result knocked out South Africa (5 points in 6 games), who were considered to be one of the favourites after beating India in their group league fixture.

The stunning result also opens up prospects for Pakistan and Bangladesh. The two teams face off at the same venue shortly, and whoever wins that game will qualify for the last 4.

India’s match against Zimbabwe this afternoon will still be crucial for the men in blue in the sense that they need to win it to ensure the top spot in Group 2.
