New Delhi: Team India pacer Thangarasu Natarajan visited the Palani Murugan temple in Tamil Nadu and had his hair shaved off as a mark of obeisance to the Almighty.
Natarajan posted a picture of him with a bald head, standing in front of the temple with folded hands, on Twitter and captioned it: “Feeling blessed.”
The 29-year-old Natarajan, who was selected for the shorter formats of the game, stayed back in Australia after the ODI and T20 International series to bowl to Indian batsmen at nets and prepare them to face Australian left-arm seamer Mitchell Starc in the Test series.
As it so happened, first-choice pacers Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah all got injured one by one to hand Natarajan a Godsent chance of making his Test debut in the final Test at Gabba in Brisbane.
Natarajan bagged three wickets to contribute in a sensational three-wicket against all odds, which helped India pocket the series 2-1.
