Team India Players Offer Prayers At Puri Jagannath Temple Ahead Of ODI Clash With England Tomorrow

Puri: Ahead of the One Day International (ODI) match with England at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, players of the Indian cricket team visited Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri and sought the blessings of the sibling deities on Saturday.

Members of the Indian team including Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Axar Patel visited the 12th century shrine and offered prayers before the highly-anticipated ODI match to be held on Sunday.

The players arrived at the temple early in the morning amid tight security, and were warmly welcomed by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). The players were escorted through the Beherana Dwara to the Ratna Singhasan, where they offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra.

After darshan at the temple, the players expressed their happiness and gratitude for the opportunity to seek divine blessings.

With the crucial ODI match against England just a day away, the Indian team will be looking to carry the divine energy and blessings from the Jagannath Temple onto the field to secure a winning start to the series.

Notably, India beat England by four wickets on February 6. Half centuries from Shreyas Iyer (59), Shubman Gill (87) and Axar Patel (52) helped India take a 1-0 series lead at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur in the first of three-match ODI series.
