Bhubaneswar: The Revenue Inspector (RI) exam witnessed disruptions due to server downtime on Thursday, leaving students frustrated and anxious at multiple centers across Odisha.
According to sources, the technical glitch delayed entry for candidates at exam centers in Bhubaneswar’s Mancheswar, Chandrasekharpur, Patia, Nayapalli, and several other locations, as well as in Berhampur and Kakatpur. Despite reaching the exam centre on time, they were made to wait outside the examination hall for over an hour and finally allowed entry at 8.45 am.
Such disruptions were reported from over 85 centres before the first sitting of the exam.
“We arrived at the centre on time and completed the verification process. But the technical issue caused a significant delay, which affected our preparation and concentration,” said a student at Mancheswar.
Lalit Das, Chairman of the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC), which conducts the exam, acknowledged the server issue.
The incident has raised concerns about backup systems and contingency plans to avoid disruption in future examinations.
