Bhubaneswar: A Kolkata-bound flight was grounded at Birsa Munda airport in Ranchi after the air conditioner started to spark as it was about to take off around 9 am on Saturday.
”The air-conditioner of the plane developed a snag and it stopped working. So, the flight was grounded for repair works,” Ranchi airport director Vinod Sharma told PTI.
While the 72-seater flight with 62 passengers on board returned to the bay, the panicky passengers got into a verbal spat with the crew members as the doors of the plane were not opened for nearly 20 minutes after the incident, India Today Reported.
The report further said that IndiGo had begun the refund process. However, it is not clear if the flight will resume again in the afternoon.
