Bhubaneswar: Well-known technocrat Hara Prasanna Mishra passed away in Bhubaneswar on April 21. He was 99.
The members of UCCIL have expressed their condolence to the bereaved family. Mishra’s demise was an irreparable loss for the state’s industry and commerce fraternity, they said.
A chemical engineer, Mishra was the founder chairman of IPICOL and first managing director of Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). He was also one of the pioneers of making sponge iron as the gateway to produce steel in India.
Mishra was conferred Kalinga Samman in 2013 for his contributions to the field of industrial sector of Odisha.
