Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths apprehended Khandapara Tehsildar Dhobei Nayak along with another person, identified as Prasanna Kumar Sahoo, while allegedly demanding Rs 20,000 bribe late on Tuesday.
According to a Vigilance release, the tehsildar had demanded the illegal gratification from the complainant to release his seized sand-laden Hyva and directed Sahoo to collect the amount. The entire bribe money was seized from Sahoo.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are on at three locations linked to Nayak to ascertain whether he has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
