Kolkata: Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao met his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Monday to discuss about the formation of a ‘Federal Front.’ The alternative force will be formed to take on the BJP and the Congress.
“The country needs something good. What will happen if the BJP goes and the Congress comes? Will it do any wonders? We are in talks with like-minded parties,” Rao said after his meeting with Mamata at the Bengal State Secretariat.
It is not the first time that the topic of an alternate third front has emerged. However, no progressive steps had been taken in the past.
Rao has been stressing on a non-Congress and non-BJP Government, which would bring about a ‘qualitative change’ in politics and be a people’s front.
