Bhubaneswar: A Congress aspirant for the Ibrahimpatnam constituency in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana has brought graft charges against the son of senior Odisha Congress leader and AICC screening committee chairman Bhakta Charan Das in the selection of candidates for the ensuing Assembly elections scheduled on December 7.
Talking to the media persons recently in Hyderabad, Congress leader Kyma Mallesh had alleged that Sagar Das, son Bhakta Charan Das, had demanded Rs 3 crore for allotting the ticket. To justify his contention, he produced audio tapes on the demand made by Sagar.
He also alleged that the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee leaders had collected Rs 10 crore as part the deal to field a weak candidate against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) nominee Danam Nagendar from Khairatabad.
In his reaction, Bhakta Charan Das said the allegations against his son are false.
