Hyderabad: This is election season, and hence it’s raining promises.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR, released Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) manifesto for next month’s Assembly elections.
The ruling party has promised to provide LPG cylinders for Rs 400 for all eligible families. All eligible voters will also be given a health cover of Rs 15 lakh each.
The manifesto promises to continue the party’s flagship welfare schemes, including Dalit Bandhu and KCR Bima.
Every Dalit household in the state will receive a Rs 10 lakh grant to start a business or invest in agriculture under Dalit Bandhu, while KCR Bima scheme will provide Rs 5 lakh insurance to 93 lakh BPL families.
KCR also announced an increase in social pension for senior citizens and widows — from Rs 2,016 to Rs 5,000 per month in phases over the next few years. Social security pension for disabled persons will be hiked to Rs 6,000 per month.
Telangana will go to polls in a single phase on November 30.
