Telangana’s ‘Most Wanted’ Criminal Arrested From Coromandel Express In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: Omar Farooq, who was in the ‘most-wanted’ list of Telangana police, was arrested from Cuttack railway station on Wednesday night.

Farooq was nabbed from Coromandel Express, in which he was travelling, by a Special Task Force (STF) team of Telangana police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel.

Farooq, a murder accused, had escaped from Telangana police custody on January 21, 2020.

The STF and RPF personnel were tipped off around 8.15 pm on Wednesday that Farooq was travelling in the Coromandel Express. After the train arrived at the railway station around 9.30 pm, he was arrested from S7 coach.
