The release said that under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Vidarbha and neighbourhood, there will be light to moderate rain or thundershower at a few places in south interior Odisha districts and light rain or thundershower at one or two places in the remaining districts with thunderstorm with gusty wind and lightning at one or two places in Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Balangir and Boudh on March 21.
Besides, thunderstorm with gusty wind and lightning will occur at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Khurda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore on March 22.
“As there will be no significant synoptic system over the Odisha with the influence of the cyclonic circulation dissipating on March 22, there will be a gradual rise in the day and night temperature in most parts of the state from March 23 in which temperature will cross over 40 degree Celsius in some parts of south Odisha especially in Malkangiri, most parts in western Odisha districts and at one or two places in the coastal Odisha, including Bhubaneswar during the period,” the release added.
