Bhubaneswar: In a relief from heatwave condition, day temperature came down in several parts of the state on Friday.
According to mid-day bulletin of regional office of India Meteorological Department (IMD), therte was appreciable fall in maximum temperature at one or two places in North Odisha and South Interior Odisha. However, it was above normal at many places in South Interior Odisha and at a few places in North Interior Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature of 42.2 degree Celsius was recorded at Titlagarh and the lowest minimum temperature of 21.5 degree Celsius at Phulbani and Bhadrak.
The trough from East Bihar to northwest Bay of Bengal at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
The IMD forecast that light to moderate rain/thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Rayagada, Gajapati and Koraput districts from Saturday to Sunday.
Similarly, light to moderate rain/thunderstorm is very likely at one or two places in North Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar from Sunday to Monday.
