Bhubaneswar: Heatwave condition continued to prevail in Odisha as four places registered temperature of 40 degree Celsius or more in the last 24 hours.
According to the evening bulletin of the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Jharsuguda was the hottest place in the state with 40.2 degree Celsius.
Jharsuguda was followed by Titlagarh at 40 degree Celsius. Titilagarh had recorded 41.4 the yesterday day and 41 degrees on Saturday. Balangir and Boudh also recorded 40 degree Celsius on the day.
Similarly, Baripada recorded a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, Sambalpur (38.9), Sundargarh (38.0), Hirakud (38.3), Talcher (38.0), and Bhadrak (38.2).
Seaside town Gopalpur in Ganjam district remained the coolest at 31.5 degree Celsius during the period while Bhubaneswar recorded maximum temperature of 37 degrees.
