Bhubaneswar: Temperature crossed 40 degree Celsius in as many as 4 places in Odisha on Tuesday.
According to evening bulletin of the regional office of India Meteorological Department, here, Jharsuguda was the hottest place in the state with maximum temperature of 41.2 degree Celsius.
Jharsuguda was followed by Sambalpur with 40.8 degree, Hirakud 40.6, Angul 40.1 and Boudh 40 degree Celsius. Paradip registered the lowest temperature of 31.8 degree.
The Met office issued yellow warning stating that thunderstorm with lightning is very
likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
It forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak districts.
For Bhubaneswar and its neighbourhood, it forecast partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain/thunderstorm in next 24 hours. Maximum and minimum temperature in the city were 39.6° C and 26° C respectively.
