Bhubaneswar: While the winter is yet to fully set in, Phulbani and Paralakhemundi in Odisha witnessed the season’s first spell of dense fog his morning, which restricted visibility to 500 and 200 respectively, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.
The MeT office further informed that the mercury dropped to 15.5 degree Celsius in Koraput while Daringbadi and Phulbani recorded 16 and 17 degree Celsius respectively.
Notably, Odisha is likely to experience day weather for the next five days with no large change in maximum and minimum temperature. Clear blue skies, warm days and cool nights are likely to prevail for the next few days. The impact of winter, however, will be less in Odisha as there is a possibility of rainfall activities till December this year, the IMD said.
Private forecaster Skymet said that there will be a significant improvement in weather conditions over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha in the next 24 hours. Sea conditions will also improve along Odisha and West Bengal coasts.
