Bhubaneswar: Temperature further increased in Odisha on Sunday as 12 places recorded 43 degree Celsius or more compared to 6 places on Saturday.
According to evening bulletin of the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, Titlagarh was the hottest place in the state recordin highest maximum (day) temperature of 45 degrees Celsius on the day.
It was followed by Boudh with 44.6 degree Celsius, Nuapada 44.4, Balangir 44.3, Jharsuguda 44, Bhawanipatna 44, Baripada 43.8, Sonepur 43.5 and Sambalpur 43.4 degree. Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Nayagarh registered maximum temperature of 43 degree Celsius.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 39.9 and 38.5 degree Celsius respectively.
The IMD has issued yellow earning for the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Boudh, Angul, Nayagarh, Nuapada, and Balangir where heatwave condition is very likely to prevail in next 24 hours.
It has also forecast that light rain/thundershower is likely at one or two places in the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput and Rayagada during the period.
