Bhubaneswar: With the winter chill set to enter Odisha, Kandhamal and Koraput districts recorded the lowest temperature of around 12°C each while 21 other places in the state saw mercury dropping below 20°C in the last 24 hours, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department informed on Friday.
According to the weather report, the lowest 12.4°C was recorded at G Udayagiri in Kandhamal followed by 12.9°C at Similiguda in Koraput. The temperature at Daringbadi was 13.5°C, followed by Koraput at 14.5°C, and 15°C at Chhatrapur, Sonepur, Boudh, and Phulbani.
Phulbani and Paralakhemundi also witnessed dense fog this morning which restricted visibility to 200m and 700m respectively.
The highest maximum temperature of 35.0 ̊C was recorded at Malkangiri and Boudh, said MeT.
Odisha is likely to experience dry weather for the next five days with no large change in temperature. Meanwhile, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati on October 31. A similar forecast has been made for Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, and Puri on November 1.
