Temperature In Odisha To Fall By 2-3°C In 2 Days Amid Thunderstorm Activity


Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds is likely to occur in several parts of Odisha over the next three days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday.

The weather agency has issued a yellow warning of thunderstorm activity for different districts till the morning of October 10, advising people to keep a watch and take necessary measures for their safety.

The IMD also stated that maximum temperature is likely to fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius during next 2-3 days.

In its midday weather bulletin, the IMD issued a yellow warning of thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40-50 kmph over the districts of Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada and Sambalpur during the next 24 hours.

On October 8-9, more districts are likely to be affected by thunderstorm activity. Yellow warning has been sounded for Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Nuapada and Balangir districts.

On October 9-10, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind may occur in the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj, where the IMD has issued a yellow warning.
